CINCINNATI, OH – March 31, 2014 – Last Tuesday, the Gift1 team visited with families and staff at Ronald McDonald House Cincinnati to make a donation of 20 8-inch tablets and cases to the organization. Jennifer Goodin, Executive Director at Ronald McDonald House, greeted the team and received the donation on behalf of the children and families staying at the facility.

“The kids were very excited and their parents were very appreciative,” said Edita Dolan-Mayo, Brand Marketing Manager for Gift1 by Powernet. “We had a lot of fun and we’re looking forward to doing more with Ronald McDonald House as part of their participation in the Gift1 program.”

Ronald McDonald House will make the tablets available for sign-out to families staying there as their children undergo medical treatments. The tablets are meant to provide entertainment for the children and give adults a means to stay connected with loved ones far away. Teresa Fisher, whose daughter is receiving treatment at nearby Children’s Hospital, used one of the tablets to update her family in Vietnam via Skype.

As a participant in the Gift1 program, Ronald McDonald House will receive additional tablets when visitors to powernetgift1.com purchase a tablet at $150 or more and select them from a list of favored recipients.

Along with Ronald McDonald House, other favored recipients include The Dragonfly Foundation (Cincinnati), Appalachian Children’s Home (Barbourville, KY) and Miracle Children’s Home (Kadali, India).
